9 Tips on how to make my perfume last longer

The article will cover how to make perfume fragrance last longer and how to keep your perfume from fading too quickly. One quick note: The best way to get a lasting fragrance is by applying it shortly before you leave for the day, but if that’s not possible then try these tricks!

tips to make perfume last longer

Tip 1: Perfume is absorbed through the skin and evaporates throughout the day. To keep your perfume from fading quickly, apply cream, body lotion or moisturizer on your pulse points before you spritz on your fragrance. This will help to lock in the scent for longer periods.

Tip 2: Allowing the fragrance to dry completely before dressing is extremely important because fragrances adhere better to bare skin.

Tip 3: Store your bottle of perfume in a cool room away from sunlight. Heat and direct sunlight will cause the top notes of your fragrance to fade, which are the first to go when you have on an eau de parfum or eau de toilette. This is different for Eau de cologne because they lack top notes. Store your perfume in the fridge. Perfumes containing alcohol last longer when they are stored in the fridge because alcohol solidifies at a lower temperature than water or oil, so it separates from the other ingredients more easily once refrigerated.

Tip 4: Apply unscented body powder on your pulse points after spritzing fragrance to help lock in the scent longer.

Tip 5: Layer your perfume – Apply a few spritzes of your favorite fragrance and wait two minutes for it to dry before applying another layer of the same perfume or a different one altogether. This will allow each layer of fragrance to bind with your skin, creating a lasting impression.

Tip 6: Wait until your perfume settles before dressing. Perfumes containing natural musks are especially important to let dry for a while before dressing because it can leave marks on your clothes if you do not wait long enough to let the fragrance evaporate properly

Tip 7: Mix your perfume with baby oil (1/2 and 1/2) before spritzing it on your pulse points. This will definitely make your fragrance last all day long! Smaller molecules of oil evaporate more quickly than larger ones, which means that the oil will lift the fragrance higher off your skin, prolonging its life.

Tip 8: Apply unscented deodorant and roll a brown eyeliner pencil over your pulse points before applying perfume to help it last all day long. Try using the same brand of deodorant and pencil, or products with matching ingredients — for example, coconut oil products such as Vaseline or Nivea work well with coconut oil-based perfumes.

Tip 9: Spray your perfume in the air (misting) and walk into it so that it hangs onto your skin longer.  Misting makes the perfume stick to all parts of your body so beware, it might make the scent on you a little loud for some people.

We hope that this blog post has helped you better understand how to make your perfume last all day. Remember, try what is best for you!
